OCTA – Awards Contract

January 15, 2004

Riverside, CA Complete Coach Works announced today that they have been awarded a Contract from John Deere to repower one of  Orange County Transportation Authority’s (OCTA) buses with a John Deere Natural Gas Engine.

Orange County Transportation Authority currently runs a large fleet of LNG powered buses and the use of the John Deere engine allows them an opportunity to evaluate emerging technology.

Complete Coach Works will install  the John Deere 8.1 Liter LNG engine equipped with John Deere’s latest LNG fuel injection system which has been specifically engineered to meet the demanding environment of liquefied natural gas.  LNG fuel poses challenges to fuel injection systems because the process of freezing Natural Gas to the temperatures needed for it to liquefy removes any natural lubricity from the gas.

“Complete Coach Works is proud to have been selected by John Deere to work with them in developing and advancing their natural gas fueled engines in the transit, refuse and school bus markets”, stated Dale Carson, President of Complete Coach Works.

John Deere is a worldwide corporation that today does business in more than 160 countries and employs approximately 43,000 people worldwide.  It is one of the oldest industrial companies in the United States.

Complete Coach Works is one of the largest bus remanufacturing, bus retrofit and upgrade companies in the country.  Focusing exclusively on the transportation industry, Complete Coach Works provides products and services ranging from accident repair to completely remanufactured and renovated buses, providing transit properties a cost effective alternative for fleet expansion or replacement.
