San Francisco MUNI Begins A/C Rehab Project

June 1, 2004

Riverside, CA Complete Coach Works announced today that they been awarded a new contract to perform an overhaul on the air conditioning systems of their Light Rail Vehicles.

These self contained roof top mounted units will have new electrically driven scroll type air compressors installed in place of their exiting four cylinder reciprocating units. In addition Complete Coach Works will reconfigure the plumbing to include fewer threaded connections, replace all eight of the evaporator and condenser motors, and provide a more stable and reliable power supply to the control board.

The first order of 50 has already begun and is being managed by Steve Peterson and his crew.  Additional units may be ordered based on the operating results of this first prototype group.

Complete Coach Works is proud to have been selected by MUNI to provide these services.

The first publicly owned streetcar system in a major city in the U.S., Muni has been taking the people of San Francisco where they want to go since 1912.
