Riverside, CA -Complete
Coach Works announced today that they have received a contract to retrofit 14
new Freightliner M2 class truck chassis to Clean Burning Natural Gas.
The contract with Sacramento Truck Center calls for the trucks to be
converted using the John Deere 8.1 liter engine offering the lowest available
emission performance, meeting 2007 Nox standards.
The trucks will be repowered and outfitted with a complete CNG fuel system
and exhaust after treatment before being delivered to CALTRANS to be put in
service in the Southern California area working out of various CALTRANS
sites.
This project reflects an ongoing commitment by CALTRANS to be proactive in
the deployment of clean air vehicles and makes a major contribution to their
existing fleet.
