Amtrak selects Complete Coach Works to retrofit train interiors and improve passengers' experienceRIVERSIDE, CA - Complete Coach Works is proud to announce the notification of award to extensively retrofit the interior of one hundred and thirteen passenger rail cars from Amtrak. This contract consists of replacing carpet, curtains, lower emergency pathway markings, seat cushions, wainscot panels, interior rubber floors and subfloor rehabilitation. "Since the successful completion of more than twenty rail projects in just the last eight years, companies are beginning to see CCW as an asset in improving their rider appeal." CalTrans and Amtrak wanted a fresh look for the trains and is also said to be part of a major initiative at Amtrak to improve passengers' experience while improving the trains' financial performance. Of the one hundred and thirteen passenger rail cars, forty nine cars are Los Angeles Surfliners, twelve are Oakland Surfliners, and 52 are Cal 1 cars also from Oakland. The work will be done on site in the rail yards in both Los Angeles and Oakland and will be rotated without interrupting daily service.
