Riverside Transit Agency saves money through refurbishment of CNG trolleysRIVERSIDE, CA - Complete Coach Works is proud to announce the award from Riverside Transit Agency (RTA) for the mechanical refurbishment of University CNG Trolleys. The award consists of replacing or refurbishing new cleaner emissions engines, transmissions, differentials, CNG tanks, heating and cooling systems, methane detection and fire suppression systems, and exterior refurbishment. RTA would not have been able to operate these trolleys in compliance with state and federal regulations for Compressed Natural Gas vehicles if they had not taken the initiative to rehab their fleet. "Staff determined it would be more cost efficient to refurbish the existing Chance trolleys rather than purchase replacements as the cost for new vehicles would be approximately $400,000 each."
