City of Simi Valley chooses Complete Coach Works to refurbish another GilligRiverside, CA. – Complete Coach Works announced today that they have been awarded another contract from the City of Simi Valley, CA. and Simi Valley Transit. The project is very similar in scope to one previously performed for the Transit agency in 2006. The scope of work includes the refurbishment of a Gillig coach, and conversion of the fuel system to Compressed Natural Gas. This conversion consists of new CNG fuel tanks, stainless steel piping, and a new Cummins 8.3L engine and Allison transmission. Additionally in the refurbishing of the bus, the electrical system will also be updated to a new state of the art multiplex system allowing Simi Valley Transit to diagnose electrical problems with ease. The project also includes the installation of a new ADA compliant wheel chair lift, all new seat cushions for passenger comfort, and an application of undercoating to prevent corrosion. Training to Simi Valley Transit will be provided on the electrical system and all other applicable systems including: wheelchair lift, fuel system, engine and transmission. This training will provide them with the necessary familiarity of the systems operations, and the proper maintenance of the newly refurbished coach.
